Vallée Blanche in a group Vallée Blanche in a group

INTRODUCTION

The Vallee Blanche is a glacier located at the heart of Mont Blanc mountain range, surrounded by prestigious peaks such as the Mont-Blanc du Tacul,  Dent du Géant, Tour Ronde or Dent du Requin.

This emblematic off-piste run that drops 23 km from the Aiguille du Midi to Chamonix is a truly memorable descent, offering the chance to ski with good powder conditions, often until the month of May.

The views are stunning and the high mountain environment provides a real sensation of wilderness with its snow landscapes, ice and seracs.  With this emblematic glacier under your skis and the overwhelming mountains around, this is truly an exceptional ski run.

It is an unforgettable experience to do with a Mountain Guide!

PROGRAM

Meeting with your guide at the departure point of the Aiguille du Midi cable car.

From the top of the Aiguille du Midi lift (3842m), descent along the ridge with the skis attached to the rucksack and roped up to the guide.

Ski descent on the chosen itinerary, which is determined by skiing ability of the group, snow conditions and your expectations.

We recommend you to take a packed lunch with you, or to ask your guide to stop for lunch at the Refuge du Requin, where you can enjoy the exceptional views of the surrounding peaks and crevasses.

At the end of the Mer de Glace glacier, it will be necessary to carry the skis for about 15 minutes to reach either the Montenvers station or the start of the descent to Chamonix via Les Mottets.

Duration: between 4 and 6 hours in total, depending on the route chosen.

We do not mix skiers and snowboarders for group descends. However, this could be arranged for private parties.

In order be prepared for the Vallée Blanche, to regain ease on off-piste runs and master your skills, we recommend you to join our ½ day off-piste clinic.

If the conditions do not allow to do the Vallee Blanche and the guide decides to cancel for security reasons or the Aiguille du Midi cable car is closed, we will propose you an off-piste day on another area, or we will change to another day or we will refund you.

If you go on the Vallee Blanche and you have not done the off-piste session, the guide will quickly see, from the 1st descent, that you don't have the good level. He will take you up the ridge of the Aiguille du Midi and you will descent by the cable car. In this case, we will not be able to refund you.

Note for snowboarders: the classic route of the Vallée Blanche is fairly steep in parts (especially the final part at the Mer de Glace), therefore it is highly recommended to bring telescopic poles to help you through.
